Everyone smokes. It’s the national pasttime or something.
Rome is stunning, but Romans don’t seem to care. Litter and graffiti are everywhere.
Italians LOVE ham! Smoked ham, boiled ham, baked ham, raw ham, cooked ham - you get the picture.
Fashion seems to be hit or miss.

Next up is the search for the mythical Leaning Tower of Pisa. We could see it from the distance, but it was nowhere to be found once we got into town. I asked the hotel desk for directions and they said we couldn’t miss it, but we had a hell of a time finding it....

We took the train from Rome to Florence. I wish we had trains like this at home – so easy and cheap. We could jump on a train to Minneapolis and sleep the whole way there!
